About

Welcome to my Blog on Insects!

Here you’ll find all kinds of news and research articles on insect biology, ecology and behaviour, and hopefully I’ve made it accessible to a wider audience whilst still retaining the science!

I have just graduated from Harper Adams University in the UK, with a distinction in the MSc Entomology programme, and I want to develop a learning resource for those studying ecology, evolution and entomology. I hope this blog will be useful for undergrads and masters students with their revision and extra reading, as well as other academics and anyone with even a passing interest in entomology!

Thanks for this blog — I think this is a wonderful resource. (p.s.: I hope you fill out the section on insect evolution, we don’t get enough of that elsewhere!).

      Thanks for your comment Karl!

I’m hoping to make a blog post every week and write the rest of the pages this year, but it’s so time consuming!

      Thanks for your interest,
      Chris.

Nice blog. Insect pollinators need all the friends they can get. In Virginia, bees face a spectrum of problems, and half of all bee colonies in the state were lost last winter, including two of mine

Sorry for your loss- I’ve read so many terrible things about colony collapse disorder! I’ve written some new articles on bee diseases if you’re interested

They’re one of the most complex and interesting insect groups in my opinion! I’ll see if I can write a bit on the work I’m doing right now on plant resistance to aphids- it’s really fascinating stuff!
